Horizontal Organic Fermentation Tank

Horizontal organic fermentation tank is fertilizer composting equipment for organic waste such as chicken manure, cattle manure, mushroom waste, crop straw, pig manure, biogas residue, wine lees and sludge.

After composting, these materials become more suitable for making organic fertilizer. The tank covers less space, generates no pollution and helps completely kill pest eggs, making it practical for breeding enterprises, recycling agriculture and ecological agriculture.

Product Introduction

Organic Fertilizer Composting

The horizontal fermentation tank converts organic waste into safer composted material for organic fertilizer production. It is suitable for manure, straw, sludge, wine lees, biogas residue and other biodegradable materials.

Export Project Application

The equipment is also searched as horizontal organic fertilizer fermenter, stainless steel horizontal bioreactor, horizontal composting tank and industrial aerobic fermentation tank. Standard Completados capacity covers 5-50 m³ with 15-20 days composting time.

Main Features

Fully Enclosed In-vessel Fermentation

The tank adopts enclosed in-vessel fermentation. A waste gas treatment system helps absorb harmful gases and reduce secondary pollution.

15-20 Days Composting Time

Under high-temperature aerobic fermentation, organic waste can usually complete harmless composting in 15-20 days, depending on material condition.

60-100℃ Sterilization

The horizontal fermenter can be adjusted to 60-100℃, helping kill hazardous bacteria, pest eggs and grass seeds.

Long Service Life

Parts in contact with organic waste are typically made of 304 stainless steel, providing strong anti-corrosion performance.

Easy Automatic Operation

One operator can control aeration, temperature control, mixing, deodorization and material discharge through the control system.

Working Process

Feeding and Mixing: Material is fed into the horizontal fermenter through a belt conveyor. The main motor and speed reducer drive the main shaft, and spiral blades turn the raw materials for full air contact and aerobic fermentation.

Heating and Discharging: The heating system heats the heat transfer oil in the inter-layer of the tank body. The temperature sensor adjusts it to the optimal fermentation temperature. After fermentation finishes, materials are discharged from the port for the next process.

Typical Treatment Flow

Composting is important for organic fertilizer production because raw manure contains odor, harmful bacteria, pest eggs and weed seeds. Fermentation helps control smell, kill pest eggs and prevent raw materials from burning crop seedlings.

For volumes below about 20 m³, horizontal fermentation tanks are usually more economical. For larger volumes, vertical equipment may be preferred when ground space is limited.

1. Feeding

Organic waste is fed into the horizontal tank through a belt conveyor.

2. Mixing

The main motor, reducer and spiral blades turn materials for full air contact.

3. Heating

The heating system heats transfer oil and sensors adjust the fermentation temperature.

4. Discharging

After composting finishes, materials are discharged for the next fertilizer process.

FAQ

What raw materials can the horizontal fermentation tank process?

It is widely used for organic waste such as chicken manure, pig manure, cow manure, livestock manure, mushroom waste, crop straw, distiller's grains, sludge and biogas residue.

How long does one fermentation cycle usually take?

Under the high-temperature aerobic fermentation process, harmless treatment is usually completed in 15 to 20 days, depending on material type, moisture, temperature and operating conditions.

Why is fermentation necessary for organic fertilizer production?

Unfermented manure may contain harmful bacteria, parasite eggs and weed seeds. Direct use can cause odor and damage crops. Fermentation helps kill pathogens, remove odor and convert organic matter into nutrients that are easier for plants to absorb.

How does the equipment handle odor during fermentation?

The tank uses a fully closed design. Waste gas generated during fermentation can pass through an exhaust gas treatment system, such as a water spray tower and activated carbon box, to reduce odor and secondary pollution.

Can the horizontal fermentation tank work in cold winter?

Yes. The tank body is designed with a heat insulation layer that helps retain internal biological heat and reduces the influence of low outside temperature, supporting year-round operation.

How automated is the equipment? Does it need many operators?

The automation level is high. Aeration, temperature control, mixing, deodorization and discharge can be controlled through the electric control cabinet. In many Completadoss, one operator can manage the complete system.

How long is the service life and how is the corrosion resistance?

The equipment is designed for durability. Key material-contact parts can be made of thick 304 stainless steel, giving strong corrosion resistance against animal manure and organic waste.

How should I choose between a horizontal and vertical fermentation tank?

The choice depends mainly on capacity and site space. For smaller capacities below about 20 m³, a horizontal tank is usually more economical and requires less building height. For larger capacities, a vertical tank may be considered.

How can I tell whether the material is fully fermented?

It can be judged by temperature, smell and appearance. The material temperature naturally drops and does not rise again, the irritating ammonia odor disappears, and the material becomes finer, softer and darker in color.

What are the main parts of the horizontal fermentation tank?

The main structure includes the tank body, main support frame, mixing shaft with spiral blades, automatic controller, temperature monitoring system and related drive and heating components.

Why does it save more space than traditional composting?

The equipment uses in-vessel composting technology. Fermentation is concentrated inside a closed tank with forced ventilation and mixing, so the footprint is much smaller than traditional trough or windrow composting.

What is the key role of the mixing shaft?

The mixing shaft uses spiral blades to mix and turn the material. Más importantly, it improves material permeability, allowing oxygen to reach the material evenly and keeping aerobic microorganisms highly active.

What is the high-temperature sterilization principle?

The system uses biological heat generated by aerobic microorganisms together with auxiliary heating. The tank temperature can be adjusted and maintained at about 60-100℃, helping kill pathogens, parasite eggs and weed seeds.

Is the power consumption high?

The operating cost is relatively controlled. Although the equipment includes a main motor and heating system, biological heat can reduce auxiliary heating demand after fermentation becomes stable, and automation helps save labor cost.

Which parts are easier to replace during maintenance?

Common replaceable parts are mainly in the drive and monitoring systems, such as thermal oil pump, motor reducer, temperature sensor and heating rod. Standardized parts make after-sales replacement and daily maintenance more convenient.
